Genevieve Hargrove (she/her) is a movement enthusiast, Dance/Movement Therapist, and Mental Health Counselor devoted to honoring the body’s innate wisdom. Raised in Nashville, Tennessee with rhythms of beat machines, musical instruments, and impromptu kitchen dancing. She found her way back to movement later in life through her mental health journey. That path sparked a deep commitment to making dance and embodiment practices accessible and inclusive to all people.
Genevieve holds a Master’s in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling, which explores the intersection of expressive movement and the body. In alignment with making movement accessible, Genevieve has danced with individuals across a wide range of communities, including those in inpatient psychiatric care, older adults living with dementia, those in recovery from substance misuse, and everyday community settings.
An avid dancer of 5Rhythms, Ecstatic Dance, Contact Improvisation, and Latin dance, Genevieve is passionate about creating spaces where people can authentically connect with themselves and others through movement. She encourages people to embrace and trust in their body’s expression beyond words, inviting movement as information, communication, and release.
