EXPRESSIVE ARTS PROGRAM

Robby McCoubrey

Robby McCoubrey is both a licensed music educator and a board certified music therapist. Whether he is facilitating in a hospital, teaching in a public school, or improvising for dancers, he tunes deeply into both himself and the people he is with. In his musical performances, he is skilled at reading the audience, and he seeks to create music that is responsive to the moment.

In his facilitation, Robby serves to be inclusive and interactive so that people can connect in a way that they may otherwise shy away from. He seeks to dispel the lie that people tell themselves, that they “aren’t good at music.” Robby has done just that, with 4 year olds and 80 year olds, and every in between. He has also worked in psychiatric hospitals, church retreats, adult day care centers, groups for adults with disabilities, schools for youth living with trauma and addiction, men who have been released from prison, and he has taught at the University level.

This is his fourth year of musical performance and support at Interfusion, and he is grateful for this opportunity to share in music and voice once again.
