Originally from Louisiana and now based in the Washington, D.C. area, Tren began her swing dance journey in Texas and has developed a distinguished career as a professional dancer, instructor, performer, competitor, and judge. As a principal artist with StuckOnSwing, she has built a reputation for a distinctive style rooted in musicality, groove, funk, personality, and expressive footwork.
Over the years, Tren has earned numerous wins and top-five placements in West Coast Swing Jack & Jill and Strictly Swing competitions at the Champions level. In 2025, Tren and her dance partner and life partner, Markus Smith, became US Open Strictly Swing Champions, marking a meaningful milestone in their shared dance journey.
Tren’s dancing reflects a deep relationship with the music, allowing rhythm, texture, and emotion to shape both her movement and her connection with her partner. Her style is grounded, soulful, and highly expressive, with a strong emphasis on individuality and musical interpretation.
For Tren, dance is far more than technique or performance—it is a spiritual experience. Together as StuckOnSwing, Tren and Markus travel throughout the United States and internationally, teaching, performing, competing, and judging at dance events and conventions.
