Post Festival Self-Care Guidance

By: Emma Olmedo, Director of Healing Arts

Dear Community,

I hope this letter finds you well after our wonderful festival experience last weekend. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your participation and the energy you brought to the event.

As we continue to integrate the experiences and insights gained from the festival, I wanted to remind you of the importance of holding space for yourself in terms of self-love and awareness. As we open ourselves to new energies and realizations, it is essential that we take care of our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies.

To support you in this process, here are a few tips and exercises that may be helpful:

Check in with your bodies daily. Take a moment to reflect on how you feel mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This will help raise awareness of where your bodies need attention and where they want to be celebrated.

Incorporate embodiment exercises daily. This can be in many forms such as meditation or yoga, but remember consistency is key. Start with what you have the capacity for and as you build discipline and awareness, you can increase the time spent on these exercises.

Discharge and collect your energy regularly. The festival provided many opportunities for releasing and collecting energy, but it is important to continue this practice in your daily life. Consider journaling, 95% of our thoughts are said to be the same thoughts as yesterday. Making up the subconscious mind. We need to regularly release the same thoughts that may be running though our minds day after day that no longer serve us. Journaling is a wonderful practice to not only discharge those thought but build awareness and creativity. All types of grounding practices can help you release what no longer serves you and collect back your vibrant energy.

Lastly Amplify your energy. You can start with a small visualization:

Connect with your breath. Envision a golden light surrounding your body, as you inhale you feel connection to self, gaining awareness of your bodies, as you exhale, your light expand into this room. First a few inches away from the body, a few feet, one half of the room is immersed in light then the other side follows. This short visualization is also great for protection and getting comfortable sitting in your personal power. When we are in our own energy we are grounded (Root chakra), embodied (Sacral chakra), powerful (Solar Plexus), heart lead (Heart chakra), in our fullest self-expression (Throat chakra), trusting in our intuition (Third eye) and connected to higher self and source (Crown chakra.)  As you become more aware of your own energy and feel more vibrant, it will naturally shift those around you.

In addition to these tips, I would like to remind you to be kind and forgiving towards yourself as you work through the integration process. Remember that self-love & awareness are a continuous practice, and you are always welcome to reach out to me for further support.

Thank you again for your participation in the festival and for being a part of our vibrant community.
