On this International Day of Yoga we are thrilled to formally announce Ms. Mikela Moore’s appointment as Festival-Wide Project Manager for Interfusion Festival IX (IF2024). In her expanded leadership role, Mikela has been directly guiding the project cycle collaborative development process, creating opportunities for more agency and innovation across all team departments, and driving a culture of excellence to best serve the needs of our growing multidisciplinary festival community.
In addition to continuing as Expressive Arts Program Director of Interfusion Festival, Mikela comes to the management role with 6 years as Collective Director at Yoga District, where she oversaw the operations of 7 studios across Washington, DC. During that time, she organized 30+ yoga teacher training sessions, worked with hundreds of trainees, and developed and taught the training curriculum on diversity, equity, and inclusivity in yoga spaces.
As an academic, Mikela is currently a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in training with a focus on somatic and mindfulness practices, art therapy, and person-centered counseling at Johns Hopkins University. In her spare time, she works as a licensed massage therapist in Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to yoga, Mikela is also a dance enthusiast, AcroYogi, flow and circus arts novice.
From educational offerings to exposure to healthy social outlets, lifestyles and supportive communities, Interfusion Festival’s mission is to bring awareness of a collective of practices and modalities to promote an integrative approach to wellness for our multidisciplinary festival community. We are in gratitude to Ms. Mikela Moore for accepting her expanded leadership role with our team, and we invite you to join us in celebrating and welcoming her on her well-deserved appointment as the Festival-Wide Project Manager of Interfusion Festival.
